May 1, 2017 - Pomona, CA

Council Brewing Company wins 4 medals and an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Los Angeles International Beer Competition & Festival. including taking Gold and Silver in the Belgian Style Lambic or Sour Ale category. This year's competiton had over 1,460 entries from countries as far away as Croatia and British Coloumbia across 95 categories. Council took home 5 medals total in this year's competition including: 
GOLD - Magic Factory - Woofle Dust with Apricots Foeder Aged Golden Sour - Belgian Style Lambic or Sour Ale
SILVER - 2nd Anniversary Flanders Style Red Ale (Barrel Aged) - Belgian Style Lambic or Sour Ale
BRONZE - Liminal Spaces Barrel Aged Biere de Garde- Belgian & French Style Ale
BRONZE- Beatitude Cherry Tart Saison - Belgian Style Fruit Beer
HONORABLE MENTION - Broken Wand Foeder Aged Dark Sour - American Style Sour Ale

Council Brewing Company, founded in 2014, is located in the Kearny Mesa community of San Diego. Council Brewing believes that beer brings people together in community, and they nurture that belief in their San Diego Tasting Room with a welcoming environment and friendly beertenders. They place a tremendous emphasis on creating unique beers with intense aromas and flavors that are well balanced and drinkable, offering a wide variety of styles with an emphasis on IPA’s and Sour Beers.  

They have built their reputation on mixed fermented sour ales which are now being produced under the Council Brewing - Magic Factory label. Council is a multiple award winning brewery, including many medals and two Best of Show wins in international competitions, and multiple sour beers have been recognized by Rate Beer as top Beers in the World in both 2016 & 2017.
