Council Brewing - Magic Factory won BEST OF SHOW for Lickable Staves at the 11th Annual, 2017 San Diego International Beer Competition & Festival held at the San Diego County Fair. This Sour Red Ale, aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels with Balaton Cherries, competed with 1,564 entries from 20 countries and 23 states across 57 categories. Lickable Staves won GOLD in the Brett and Other Sour Beer category, along with their other recent foeder aged beer release Broken Wand Raspberries which took BRONZE in the same category. This comes on the heals of Council's BEST OF SHOW win in the 2016 Los Angeles International Beer Competition with a Barrel Aged Old Ale (Gaderian). Full Details about the beer can be found here.
Council Brewing Company, founded in 2014, is located in the Kearny Mesa community of San Diego.
