Council Brewing Company wins GOLD and BEST OF SHOW for Gaderian at the 2016 Los Angeles International Beer Competition & Festival. This English-Style Old Ale, aged in American oak barrels with Brettanomyces for one year, competed with over 1,000 entries from countries as far away as New Zealand and Japan across 97 categories. Gaderian is an old English word that means to bring people together embodying the Council Brewing spirit. The result is an incredibly complex, rustic beer with notes of figs, molasses, toasted bread and caramel with the Brettanomyces imparting woodsy and leathery characteristics. The rich silky mouthfeel keeps the flavors lingering on the palate. Council took home 5 medals total in this year's competition including:
GOLD & BEST OF SHOW: Gaderian - Old Ale or Strong Ale
SILVER - Les Saisons Barrel Aged Rustic Saison - American-Style Brett Ale
SILVER - Beatitude Cherry Tart Saison - Belgian Style Fruit Beer
BRONZE - Nicene White Wine Barrel Aged Farmhouse Saison - American Style Brett Ale
