Beer Education Night - Harvesting Yeast & Bacteria

Date: Wednesday, September 14th, 2016

Time: Presentation is from 6-7pm. We will start pouring flights at 5:30pm, so come early to secure your seat. 

Event Details: Everyone is welcome and no ticket purchase is necessary.

Presentation: Our Barrel Program Director, Jeffrey Crane, will continue his sour beer presentation series by talking about methods for harvesting your own wild yeast and bacteria.

Jeff will explain the advantages and disadvantages to three different techniques for harvesting wild yeast. He will review what considerations need to be made for performing the traditional coolship or open inoculation method. As well as a lower risk method of making a wild yeast starter. And lastly how to gather your own yeast from your favorite commercial bottles. 

Beer Education Night Flight: Farmer's Gold with Brett, Belgian Tripel with Brett, Sunrise Highway, and Beatitude Citra Tart Saison. 

Sunrise Highway is our first spontaneous beer produced from wild yeast harvested from freshly pressed Julian apples.
